Level III Onsite cum Offsite Emergency Drill conducted by Paradip Refinery – IndianOil

Paradip, 07.07.2026: On 7th July 2026, Paradip Refinery – Indian Oil Corporation Limited, conducted a Level III Onsite cum Offsite Emergency Drill aimed at assessing the emergency preparedness of the Refinery for incidents affecting areas beyond its boundaries with our Stake holders and Mutual aid Industries, to combat disaster like situation. The drill was executed in line with the approved Emergency Response and Disaster Management Plan (ERDMP) of Paradip Refinery. Mr Chandra Sekhar Behera, Assistant Director, Factories & Boilers witnessed the mock drill at the location. Mr Kausik Basu, Executive Director and Refinery Head, Paradip Refinery chaired the debriefing session with Paradip Refinery Management, NDRF Team, State Police Services, Mutual Aid Partners – M/s PPL, M/s IFFCO, M/s PPA, PHBPL and Paradip Refinery fire services team. The scenario envisaged was leakage of Chlorine gas at Raw Water Treatment Plant (RWTP) of Paradip Refinery, leading to dispersion of chlorine gas beyond the refinery premises. People residing in nearby affected area were evacuated as part of the Mock drill. Response & control measures were taken as per the protocols of Emergency Response & Disaster Management Plan and were well coordinated.
