Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: The three-day 54th National Convention of Company Secretaries, organised by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), concluded in Bhubaneswar on Monday, bringing together company secretaries, industry leaders, regulators, policy experts and professionals from across the country.
Held on the theme “NextGen CS – Catalyst of Growth & Guardian of Governance”, the convention focused on emerging opportunities and challenges before the profession and explored a roadmap for the next generation of Company Secretaries.
Key discussions centred on RegTech and digital compliance, sustainability and transparency, governance for startups and MSMEs, future-ready skills, capital markets, boardroom ethics, carbon markets and inclusive grassroots governance.
The sessions included RegTech Revolution: Aligning Compliance with Digitalization, Building Trust & Transparency: Driving Global Alignment in Sustainability, Expanding Governance Footprints: CS for Startups, MSMEs & NPOs, Future-Proofing the Profession: Skill Stack for India @ 2047 and Capital Market Ecosystem: Anchoring Ethics & Transparency.
Other sessions addressed boardroom dynamics, carbon-market governance and the role of Company Secretaries in promoting inclusive growth.
The ICSI also highlighted major structural milestones and regulatory progress achieved during 2023–2026 through a special session.
The convention also provided a platform for cultural engagement. Participants witnessed a musical performance by Padma Bhushan Usha Uthup and enjoyed a vibrant Odissi dance performance, showcasing Odisha’s rich artistic heritage.
The convention concluded with a renewed emphasis on strengthening corporate governance, embracing technology and equipping Company Secretaries to play a greater role in India’s economic journey towards 2047.
