A Unique Initiative Providing Free Accommodation, Nutritious Food, and Treatment Support
Bhubaneswar: Cancer is not just a disease; it is a major physical, emotional, and financial challenge for patients and their families. For many underprivileged patients who travel from remote areas to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for treatment, finding affordable accommodation, food, and proper medical guidance often becomes an additional burden. Recognizing these challenges, Premashrya Charitable Trust has stepped forward with a compassionate solution.
Located in the Gohiria area of Bhubaneswar, Premashrya Shelter has emerged as a safe, hygienic, and caring home for cancer patients.
The shelter provides free accommodation, nutritious meals, and various support services for patients and one accompanying caregiver, helping them focus on recovery rather than daily struggles.
According to the Trust’s founder, Binod Agrawal, “We rise by lifting others.” This philosophy forms the foundation of Premashrya. He believes that no patient should face obstacles in treatment due to a lack of care and support outside the hospital.
The shelter is equipped with 28 well-furnished rooms, clean sanitation facilities, a modern kitchen, a dining hall, and a multipurpose activity hall. Since cancer treatments such as chemotherapy often weaken patients’ immune systems, special emphasis is placed on maintaining a hygienic environment and providing nutritious food.
Beyond accommodation and meals,
Premashrya also focuses on the emotional well-being of patients. Facilities such as yoga sessions, Bhagavata recitation, and counseling services help patients and their families maintain a positive outlook and emotional strength during difficult times.
In addition, the Trust has deployed trained counselors in major hospitals across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. These counselors assist patients with doctor selection, hospital registration, documentation, appointment scheduling, and other treatment-related procedures, making the healthcare journey smoother and less stressful.
Through its commitment to service, compassion, and humanity, Premashrya has become a beacon of hope for countless cancer patients.
